New Beer Days
If you’re on this site then you’re probably already aware that the beer industry, and us nerds that consume and obsess over their products, have special calendar days to celebrate our favorite libation.
Heck, I’ve even dedicated a page of this website to listing out all these special days on a calendar.
April is a big month with 7 special beer related days from bigger ones like US National Beer Day to smaller ones like “Rotate Your Beer” Day to, my personal favorite, German Beer Day.
That being said, there are some obvious holes in the annual calendar that I think we can fill with some new celebratory days. I’m going to list some of my suggestions below but I’d love to get your feedback in the comments on my suggestion and also some of your own suggestions…
- May 17 – Support Your Local Bottleshop Day
- I mean, you probably already support them in a big way but let’s take a day to show them some love on our social media platforms. Unless, you’re one of these secretive jerks who doesn’t want to share the spot where you get all your wonderful beer.
- June 24 – Beer Can DIY Day
- What do you do with your empties? Don’t be a simp and just bring them to the recycling depot. Upcycle them in honor of National Upcycling Day. Make a pen holder or an aluminum can airplane or planting pots for your tiny cacti collection.
- July 22 – Beerfluencer Day
- This seems a little self-serving, doesn’t it? Show some love to your favorite people/accounts in the world of Beerstagramming or BeerTubing or TikHopping (?)
- Aug 19 – Take a Picture of Your Beer Day
- Your camera’s already out for World Photography Day anyway. Kill 2 beer with one stone, right?
- Sep 3 – Barleywine Day
- It’s also close to World Beard Day. Those two things paired with a flannel shirt seem to work well together.
- Oct 17 – Pumpkin Beer Day
- Probably one of the most controversial beer styles out there. Whether you celebrate it in your cable knit sweater drinking out of a mason jar or you’re simply pouring it down the drain, let’s show some love/hate to this seasonal style. Don’t @ me.
- Nov 7 – Brewery Merch Day
- Not necessarily a drinking day but a good way to show support to your local craft brewery. Show off your fav shirt, hoody, hat, growler (do people still use those?) from your fav breweries.
- Dec 23 – Prepare Your Liver Day
- The day before Xmas eve. Your liver is going to hate you the next two weeks. Maybe just have a water, you lush. Or at least something sessionable.
